End live exports

Protest against live exports: 13/12

SfA will be protesting against live exports at Saughton House, Edinburgh on 13th December from 12 noon.

Scotland’s a major player in the live exports industry. Calves just weeks old are taken from their mothers, and sent into the European veal system.

The Scottish Government’s compounding this misery by allowing animals to be transported in distressing conditions.

We’re working with colleagues across Europe to end the trade, come along and lend your voice.

UK elections, December 12th

UK elections will be held on 12th December, and we believe where a candidate stands on animals is a strong test of their fitness to hold office.

In Westminster, Scottish MPs will be in a position to vote on animal issues which are currently not devolved. A few points you can put to candidates include whether they will support;

A Ban on the public sale of fireworks

An independent inquiry into the efficacy of using animals in research

A ban on the use of animals in military/ Ministry of Defence tests

A ban on live exports for slaughter or fattening

Scrapping of VAT on veterinary treatment

Please keep in mind that Scottish MPs may also vote on matters applying to animals in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. As a result, please also ask them to provide details of what they would do to protect the rights/ welfare of animals in general.

We’ve compiled a list of candidates for your constituency below. Contact details will be available online.

Stand with KAALE against live exports

The government, police and the industry working in concert to shut down campaigners.

Occasions like these demonstrate that you really couldn’t get a fag paper between authorities paid to protect animals, and those making fortunes out of enslaving and killing them.

When the vulnerable are abandoned by the law, we all have a duty to take action ourselves.

Please send a message of solidarity to Kent Action Against Live Exports. let them know you stand with them.

Live exports must end

Disappointing to see no explicit commitment to end live exports in today’s queen’s speech. UK Govt. has pledged to consult on transport of animals.

Scotland for Animals will work to ensure any legislation includes a ban on exports for slaughter and fattening after leaving EU.
